So here are the notes of the beers I've tasted so far



2) JW Lee "Supernova" - 3.5% abv
JW Lees Brewery Manchester. Hops Used: Stryian
Dark mahogany in colour, with a rich fruity taste and undertones of liquorice and chocolate.

Strong flavour, fruit but nothing distinctive, sharp after-taste, though not unpleasant - hint of dark chocolate. I couldn't detect the liquorice. Good session Mild.

8) Namyslow "Original Plum Beer" - 4.0% abv
Browar Namyslow, Poland. Hops Used: Perle
With a light ruby colour, this unusual beer has a distinctive character. Its pleasing, sweet and aromatic flavour is balanced by a gentle bitterness.

A very strong aroma of plums and the immediate taste is almost overpoweringly sweet. The sweetness does mellow into a well rounded after-taste.

9) Tom Wood's "Scarecrow Bitter" - 4.0% abv
Highwood Brewery, Lincolnshire. Hops Used: Fuggles, Goldings
Golden in colour, its hoppy character is balanced by a subtle, sweet maltines, leading to a refreshingly dry after-taste.

Odd, musty straw flavour, with a dry, sharp aftertaste. Quite unpleasant.

19) York "Coppergate" - 4.3% abv
York Brewery, Yorkshire. Hops Used: Bramling Cross, Saaz
An inviting reddish colour and a pleasing aroma, leading to a malty and slightly dry flavour and leaving a lingering pleasant after-taste.

Dried fruit, particulary citrus peel flavour and aroma. Dry, sharp bitterish chocolate after-taste.

28) Thwaites "Liberation Ale" 4.5%abv
Thwaites Brewery, Lancashire. Hops Used. Cascade, Goldings
This cheshnut-coloured beer has an initial burst of malty flavour and a subtle sweetness, with a hint of citrus hops in the aroma.

Very decent session beer, no sharp or unpleasant flavours or after-tastes, a well rounded beer.

46) Wadworth "Fairport Five" 5.0% abv
This golden ale has citrus and gooseberry aromas and a peppery bitterness, derived from the hops used. These combine with a biscuity flavour of pale ale malt.

Digestive / Shortbread flavour. Couldn't taste the gooseberry or pepper. Well rounded after-taste.
